Cybex Eagle NX Series

Fifteen documented Eagle NX models — the modernized successor to Eagle, released starting June 2014. Eagle NX keeps the Dual Axis Technology and independent arm motion that made the original Eagle line a commercial benchmark, then layers on refined movements, restyled aesthetics, and modern console features like QR-code exercise videos and integrated device holders.

Refined, not reinvented

What Eagle NX actually changed

Eagle NX doesn't replace the biomechanical foundation that made Eagle the industry benchmark — Dual Axis Technology, independent arm motion, and converging/diverging paths of motion all carry forward. What changed is the user experience layered on top. The Row keeps its four-bar-linkage top pivot and diverging path optimized to work the lats, while the Leg Extension adds a four-bar linkage combined with gas spring assist so the seat back can be adjusted without the user getting off the machine — a small detail with a real impact on circuit turnover speed.

The Abdominal station got a genuine functional upgrade: a patent-pending design now allows true spinal flexion including extension beyond neutral, with a counterbalance system that offsets the user's upper-body mass for more effective resistance through the full range. And every NX machine ships with QR-code-linked exercise videos, a smartphone/tablet holder, and a water bottle/towel holder — small additions that reflect Eagle NX's broader positioning as the more contemporary, member-facing version of the Eagle platform.

Carried forward from Eagle

  • Dual Axis Technology — user-defined + machine-defined motion
  • Independent arm motion for balanced strength development
  • Converging / diverging paths matched to natural arm movement

New on Eagle NX

  • QR-code linked step-by-step exercise videos
  • Integrated smartphone/tablet holder
  • Water bottle / towel holder, standard on every machine
  • Gas-spring assisted seat adjustment (Leg Extension)

Eagle NX, original Eagle, or Prestige VRS?

If you already run original Eagle machines, NX is a straightforward upgrade path with the same biomechanical DNA. If aesthetics and the newest console styling matter most, compare against Prestige VRS too.

Eagle NX Frequently Asked Questions

When was Cybex Eagle NX released?

The core Eagle NX lineup was released starting June 2014, with additional stations rolling out through September 2014. Cybex marketed the series as made up of fifteen premium pieces of strength training equipment.

What's new on Eagle NX compared to the original Eagle?

Eagle NX keeps Dual Axis Technology and independent arm motion from the original Eagle line but adds modern console features: QR-code exercise videos, an integrated smartphone/tablet holder, and a water bottle/towel holder standard on every machine.

What is the Eagle NX Leg Extension's four-bar linkage for?

It combines a four-bar linkage with gas spring assist so the seat back position can be adjusted without the user needing to get off the machine, plus a floating tibia pad and offset input arm to keep the starting knee angle consistent.

What makes the Eagle NX Abdominal different from a standard ab machine?

It isolates the abs by removing hip flexors, arms, and shoulders from the movement. A counterbalance system offsets the user's upper-body mass, and a patent-pending design allows true spinal flexion including extension beyond neutral.
